(Chonburi – February 18, 2025) – Honda LPGA Thailand 2025, a premier women’s golf tournament, continues its commitment to empowering women for the second consecutive year with the “Handcrafting Bra Prostheses for Breast Cancer Fighters” initiative. Held in collaboration with Sabina Public Company Limited, the program brings together top women golfers, including Akie Iwai and Chisato Iwai, twin sisters from Japan ranked World No. 30 and No. 50, Georgia Hall (World No. 77) from England, and Trichat Cheenglab (World No. 213), the former Ladies European Tour (LET) No. 1 and 2023 Rookie of the Year.
Fans are invited to take part in sewing 600 prosthetic breasts throughout the Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 tournament week, from February 20–23, 2025, between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, at the Honda Pavilion, Hole 18, Siam Country Club Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi. The initiative aims to support breast cancer patients at Chonburi Cancer Hospital and raises awareness of breast cancer, a leading health concern among women worldwide, with Thailand reporting an average of 22,000 new cases annually.
Akie and Chisato Iwai, the first twin sisters to earn LPGA Tour cards, shared their thoughts: “This initiative is not just about sewing prosthetic breasts for patients—it’s also about sending them encouragement and hope. We are truly honored and delighted to be part of this meaningful effort.”
Trichat Cheenglab added: “Honda LPGA Thailand is a tournament that embodies the strength and spirit of women. This activity allows us to extend our support to fellow women. It’s such a special experience for me this year, and I encourage everyone to join this wonderful initiative throughout all four days of the tournament.”
First introduced in 2024, the “Handcrafting Bra Prostheses for Breast Cancer Fighters” initiative brought together global women golfers and fans to support breast cancer patients. Led by Ariya Jutanugarn and rising American golfer Lucy Li, the program successfully produced 400 prosthetic breasts, which were donated alongside bras and monetary contributions totaling THB 150,000 to Chonburi Cancer Hospital, a key cancer treatment center in eastern Thailand. The donation was made in April 2024.
The highly anticipated Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 is set to return with even greater excitement, bringing together 72 of the world’s top women golfers to compete for a prize purse of US$1.7 million (approximately 60 million baht). The tournament will take place from February 20–23, 2025, at Siam Country Club Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi.
