Pimpisa Rubrong Celebrates Birthday with Victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 National Qualifiers

(Chonburi – January 8, 2025)The Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 National Qualifiers concluded successfully at the Siam Country Club Rolling Hills, Pattaya, Chonburi, on January 7–8, 2025. Pimpisa Rubrong claimed the championship title, earning a coveted place in the prestigious Honda LPGA Thailand 2025, which boasts a total prize fund of US$1.7 million (approximately 60 million baht). The main tournament is set to take place from February 20–23, 2025, at the Siam Country Club Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi.

Pimpisa Rubrong, an 18-year-old amateur golfer from Bangkok and a member of Thailand’s national team, emerged as the champion among a record-breaking 88 competitors, the highest number of participants since the event’s inception. She delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with a score of 6-under-par 138 (69-69), leaving runner-up Saranporn Katesuwan, who scored 4-under-par 140 (69-71), two strokes behind.

Pimpisa’s victory coincides with her 18th birthday on January 9, making the win even more special. Reflecting on her achievement, she said, “I am incredibly proud and happy. Competing in the Honda LPGA Thailand National Qualifiers for the past two years has taught me that perseverance leads to success. I am determined to deliver my best performance against the world’s top golfers. I will focus on practicing extensively, especially at the Old Course, and improving my concentration.” She expressed her gratitude to her family for their unwavering support, which she credits as the foundation of her success, and thanked Honda for organizing this competition, which provides Thai golfers with the opportunity to experience world-class tournaments.

Now in its seventh year, the Honda LPGA Thailand National Qualifiers were officially organized for the first time in collaboration with the Thai LPGA, which promotes and develops Thai women’s golf on the global stage. This competition has launched the careers of numerous successful golfers, including Chanettee Wannasaen, a two-time National Qualifiers champion (2021, 2022), who now boasts two LPGA Tour titles—the Portland Classic 2023 and Dana Open 2024. Past champions include Benyapa Niphatsophon (2019), Rina Tatematsu (2020), Chanettee Wannasaen (2021, 2022), Natkritta Vongtaveelap (2023), and Suvichaya Vinijchaitham (2024).

The Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 is set to captivate golf fans from February 20–23, 2025, at the Siam Country Club Old Course, Pattaya. Thai golfers competing in the tournament include Jeeno Thitikul, who secured two LPGA titles in 2024 (Dow Championship and CME Group Tour Championship) and climbed to World No. 4, alongside Patty Tavatanakit, the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand champion. The full roster of 72 world-class golfers, both Thai and international, will be announced in early February.
