This is done through an event that meets international standards, while also fostering greater access and participation in the sport.”
“Honda truly believes in our global brand slogan, ‘The Power of Dreams – How We Move You’, which reflects our commitment to being an inspiring force that motivates individuals and communities to pursue their dreams. This aligns with our vision to support athletes and fans, encouraging more people to embrace challenges and enrich lives around the world. Supporting the Honda LPGA Thailand serves as a platform to elevate the aspirations of golf enthusiasts. This year, we are ready to deliver excitement through the tournament and various activities, welcoming golf fans from across the country and the world to fully enjoy the event. We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, public and private sector partners, IMG Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd., for organizing this event, and to all the teams working behind the scenes who have made this tournament possible once again.”
The Honda LPGA Thailand is more than just a golf tournament. In addition to the competition between 72 world-class golfers, the event features various activities, including the National Qualifiers – a valuable opportunity for Thai golfers to gain international experience. The Junior Golf Program selects and trains young golfers under 16, helping them refine their skills, with 25 finalists participating in a Junior Golf Clinic that allows them to interact with world-class golfers during tournament week. The event also includes a Young Ambassador Program, a Volunteer Program, and CSR initiatives, including a donation to the Siriraj Foundation to support patient care.
Ms. Winnie Heng, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Services (Thailand) Ltd., the tournament organizer, added, “The Honda LPGA Thailand is one of the premier golf events in Asia, and IMG is proud to collaborate with Honda and our partners to promote women’s golf and foster gender equality in sports. Currently, female golfers represent 60 percent of new players worldwide, gradually closing the gender gap in the sport. We are also committed to bringing new experiences and vibrant activities, ensuring this tournament becomes a lifestyle event for all ages.”
In the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand, fans witnessed an exhilarating victory by Thai golfer Patty Tavatanakit, who claimed the title with a total score of 21-under, narrowly defeating Albane Valenzuela of Switzerland, who finished in second at 20-under. Patty will return in 2025 to defend her title, and the Thai audience is excited to cheer her on once again.
Patty Tavatanakit commented, “My journey with the Honda LPGA Thailand began in 2015 as an amateur. This tournament has held a special place in my heart since I was young and winning the title in front of my parents and Thai fans is a memory I’ll always treasure. Defending my title will be another exciting challenge, and I’m constantly preparing. I’d love to invite everyone to join the fun and support all the players and me.”
In the 2024 LPGA Tour season, several Thai golfers have excelled, securing numerous international titles. Notable achievements include JeenoThitikul’s victory at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, Chanettee Wannasaen’s win at the Dana Open, Moriya Jutanugarn’s triumph at the Portland Classic, and Jasmine Suwannapura’s recent success at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. With Thai golfers making their mark on the global stage, the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand will be closely watched to see if a Thai player can claim the title for the third time, following victories by Ariya Jutanugarn in 2021 and Patty Tavatanakit in 2024.
The Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 is set to return with excitement and fanfare from February 20-23, 2025, at Siam Country Club, Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi.
